Stories are powerful weapons in the fight against solitary. Let us know how solitary confinement has impacted you, or invite your loved ones on the inside to write about their experiences. If you prefer, a CAIC member can interview you and record and type up your story. Contact caicny@gmail.com.

INVITE CAIC TO PROVIDE MATERIALS OR PLAN AN EVENT.

We can do a film screening, panel discussion, training, workshop – about isolated confinement at your school, community center, or place of worship. We have a range of materials and would be happy to collaborate to plan an event. Contact caicny@gmail.com.

Demand some of the following changes in your letter:

b) Stop placing people in isolated confinement!;

c) At a minimum, ensure no person is ever held in isolated confinement beyond 15 days;

d) Never place particularly vulnerable people in isolation for even one day, including the young, elderly, or pregnant, those with a disability or mental health need, or who identify as LGBTQI.
